Being a Disciple of the Triune Family There are many people who are followers and not disciples of Jesus Christ. Many of these followers during Jesus’ time only wanted what He could do for them. Many of them wanted food while others wanted to be healed, but only a small group became disciples of Jesus Christ. Jesus’s followers were called disciples. A disciple is a student, follower, and learner of Jesus Christ. Many of the disciples were committed in learning and imitating their Master. The disciples spent all of their time observing and learning from Jesus. They saw how He healed the sick, raised the dead, gave sight to the blind, made the lame walk, the deaf talk, and when He fed the multitudes with two fish and five loaves. Even after at his resurrection Jesus left the disciples with these last words of instruction; to make more disciples; baptize and teaches these new disciples to obey Christ and Christ would be with them always. After Jesus ascension in Acts, he told the disciples to wait until the Holy Spirit come upon them and they will receive power and tell people about Him everywhere; in Jerusalem, throughout Judea, in Samaria, and to the ends of the earth. In this verse we see the triune family God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit. Many theologians refuse to see the Trinity in this Scripture. Also, many cults do not believe in the Trinity. They accept one person but not the other person in the Trinity.
