This transformation consists of connecting with the consumer on an emotional level, where they found their customers want them to be. Therefore, Sofia became the customer face who will represent the people who they serve. She was chosen to make their customer real and personal. Sophia comes with health concerns, a budget, and a large family for whom she balances health care and ultimately, she’s the reason Banner Health is here. If they make health care easier and life better for Sofia, they make it great for everyone. Along with this transformation Banner has a new mission, set of values, and purpose. “Making health care easier, so life can be better” (Banner Health [About Us], 2017, para 1) is the new mission statement that reflects their …show more content…
This new vision will make healthcare easier and life better when their consumers recommend Banner to their family and friends. Banner first started on September 1st, 1999 through a merger between nonprofits Lutheran Health Systems, based in North Dakota, and Samaritan Health system, based in Phoenix, Arizona (Banner Health [About Us], 2017). Since then, Banner has been constantly improving to accommodate the patient and most recently their biggest transformation is in progress. Along with this reinvention the corporate culture is also involved in this change. This change involves Banner’s new values which will define the new culture to reshape behaviors to focus on consumers. Banner wants a culture where employees are ‘customer obsessed’, this means they are relentless in meeting customer needs and exceeding expectations (Banner Health [About Us], 2017). Banner’s Imagine journey is about reinventing the entire company from top to bottom. This reinvention has already begun and can take 3 to 5 years, change of this magnitude will take multiple years to fully implement and will require ongoing assessment and adaption (Banner Health [About Us],
