In a news article entitled Telegraph it is stated that one third of doctors support medical euthanasia. “A doctor who is unconcerned about the quality of life is inhumane; and the real enemy is not death but inhumanity.” A life filled with pain and suffering isn’t a life at all, and to die in the worst moments of your life is not a humane death. A seventy-year-old woman by the name Mrs. Boyed “…was terminally ill with what two leading rheumatologists described as the worst case of rheumatoid arthritis they had encountered.” Rheumatoid arthritis is a chronic progressive disease causing inflammation in the joints and resulting in painful deformity and immobility, especially in the fingers, wrists, feet, and ankles. Mrs. Boyed wished to experience a joyful life in her youth, and falling ill put an end to her ability to take part in the activities she enjoyed, she was unable to show affection or communicate with her loved ones as a result of the pain she suffered just being alive, leaving her in a state of life without living. “Any movement caused intense discomfort and she screamed at the slightest touch.” …show more content…

The Bible contains passages indirectly relating to euthanasia in both Exodus 20:2-17; “the commandment states to love your neighbour, but to love your neighbour one should not stand by and watch another human suffer in pain and agony with no way out.” [9] And in Exodus 20:2-17’ “I am the LORD your God: you shall not have strange Gods before me.” [10] The reliance on respirators and artificial hearts is a form of idolization of man made machines, as they hold to the power to one’s life or death, euthanasia would free them from these
