Twenty seven studies were focused on a group of patients with cancer. The main intention was to see if Art Therapy had helped them at all. Four factors were looked at, they were, anxiety, depression, pain, and the quality of their lives. In this study, patients were distributed into two separate groups, art therapy and standard therapy. Each patient would go through series of therapy procedures from regular art therapy and regular therapy. During this, their behaviour was studied and recorded showing how it has affected their behavior. Just like the previously mentioned case study, the art therapy test results were proven to have better results. When looking through all the data collected, Psychologist Rachel Ruddy noticed something a bit different, “more people completed the therapy if allocated to the art therapy group, compared with standard care in the short… medium… and long term” (Ruddy).
