It takes no survey to remove repression.” ( Harvey Milk) Throughout society today homosexuals are being targeted, their life opportunities, jobs and rights are being taken away. In the article “Gay and Transgender People Face High Rates of Workplace Discrimination and Harassment” states how studies have shown that anywhere from 15% to 43% of gay people have experienced some sort of discrimination. Rights are morals or legal entitlements to have or obtain something or even to act in a certain way. Living in America every individual no matter the gender,race, and or religion you have rights that are listen on the constitution. ”Although the Fourteenth Amendment, ratified at the end of the Civil War, it was designed to ensure legal equality for African Americans, Congress wrote it as a general guarantee of equality, and the courts have interpreted the Equal Protection Clause to prohibit discrimination on the basis of gender, religion and disability.” (The Rights of Lesbian,Gay, Bisexual, and Transgender People, paragraph 13) “The ACLU believes the Equal Protection Clause prohibits discrimination based on sexual orientation as well.”(The Rights of Lesbian,Gay, Bisexual, and Transgender People, paragraph 14) Consequently, discrimination is still not prohibited to homosexuals. As much as equality can be claimed it is not given and it is seen in multiple public places. For example, in school, kids may get bullied and get isolated.
