What we do not take into account is the person. If that person has never been in that situation he or she will fail. Positive stereotype puts a lot of pressure on the individual person. The person will do self-fulfilling checks. Compare their works with others and give a lot of stress that is unneeded.

• What are the negative aspects of stereotypes? It demoralizes the individual. Consider this, a person that lives on the wrong side of the tracks are told that he or she will never make something of their life. This is told to that person all time while growing up. That person will start to believe in what was told to them. That person then, starts having problems in school, at work, with family and friends. Next thing we know that person is in jail because of this. If the person has children, then they see this as being acceptable and start going down the same path as their parent. The only way to get out of being like this is to learn and give praise when needed. The children are our future and if they are not taught correctly we will be doomed to make the same mistakes over and over. This all starts with the family values. If you cannot count on your family to help you, then you need to seek other assistance. That can be from a teacher, other family member, pastor or someone that you respect.
