Who was Apollo? Apollo was the god of the sun for his youthfulness, he was the god of healing and medicine for taking care of herds and crops, and he was the god of archery. He killed a serpent to save his mother, he was handsome and had a youthful appearance, and he brought ill-health and deadly plague.
Apollo was the god of the sun for his athletic and youthful appearance. He is full of grace and beauty. He was a medical healer who was successful and could bring the dead back to life. By the Hellenistic period and in literature, Apollo is associated as the god of the sun. His truthfulness and integrity, he was granted the gift of prophecy and oracles. Delos was grateful for Apollo. In relation to the rituals that took place in Delos and Delphi, it said that there were two distinct cults in honor of Apollo.
