As much as America identifies with Christianity as a whole, there seems a slightly different motivation as to where our moral guidance comes from. Hugh Heclo looks into more detail on this matter by taking a quantitative approach with his studies: “Even among ‘born-again’ Christians, only 40 percent say they rely on Biblical or church teachings as their primary source of more guidance […] Mainly, it seems, they look to personal, utilitarian calculations. Slightly over six out of ten Americans report that their moral guidance comes from considering what will bring the most pleasuring results to themselves or other persons” (Heclo,66).…

Yoni Heisler published an article, “This Is Why America Is Obese”, and explains how food can seriously affect the human body; the message being unhealthy trends can be seen throughout young kids. Throughout this paper, he discusses the consequences such as heart disease and heart attacks that can occur as a side effect of obesity. In addition, he claims that these habits begin at a young age, and kids are the “trend setters” of creating this unhealthy norm. To support this prerogative, the author then provides examples of lunches around the world and compares them to the United States in the sense of the U.S’s choice on what is healthy for children. Although Heisler believes to have the basics down on America’s overweight crisis, his logic…

The Earth is a part of the solar system and it has been influenced by its elements since it was formed. The solar system was formed from a large nebular cloud. This nebular cloud began to spin producing energy due to the collision between particles. The composition of these colliding particles included metal-rich fragments such as iron meteorites, rocky fragments such as stony meteorites, and icy fragments such as comets. The solar nebula grew hotter and denser, forming a disk of gas and dust at its center.…
