In this 20 year time period, many essential moments of America happened. In 1954, one of the greatest wars erupted. This war was called the Vietnam War, a war between “the communist government of North Vietnam” “against the government of South Vietnam.” (britannica.com) The United States posed as an ally for South Vietnam, while Viet Cong posed as an ally for North Vietnam. Sadly, as a result of the war, “more than three million people, including 58,000 americans, were killed in the conflict.” (history.com) However, during this horrific period, other life-changing events occurred as well. Along with the Vietnam War, events such as the launch of Apollo 8-11, “the free speech movement,” and the “civil rights movement” occurred. (wikipedia.com)
