Aphrodite’s rage exploded, and she turned to the man, her violet eyes flashing. Without a word, she reached out and raked the man’s face with her nails, causing blood to flow freely into his eyes. He staggered back due to the stinging in his eyes, then began to flail his fists about in an attempt to ward off a further attack, but he could not see clearly as Aphrodite continued to hit him with closed fists, while Cadoc stood by in astonishment.
As the man staggered backwards, he tripped over the drain in the street, Aphrodite followed him down, straddling his stomach and continuing to rain blows down upon him. She was hurting him, being stronger than she looked, and cuts opened up in his face as she continued; he howled with anger and pain, but was unable to push her off as her fists continued to pound him. Finally, he passed into unconsciousness, and she sat on his chest panting due to her efforts. A crowd was gathering as Cadoc came to her, putting a gentle hand on her shoulder.

“But it seemed like the right thing to do.”
“Ye must be tired,” Cadoc said. “We are almost back at the school.”
“I want to go to the Amazon fortress!” she declared suddenly, and quite fiercely. “I liked helping those people, and punishing that horrid man! I want to kill them all, who would make slaves of us just because we are women!”
Cadoc grinned, her attitude was suddenly very fierce, and he found that his desire for her only increased due to it. He took her hand and stopped suddenly, turning to face her and taking her into his arms. “May I please have a kiss?” he asked.
“Why?”
“Because I love ye more now than I did this morning,” he answered candidly. They shared a tentative touch of the lips before parting, walking much more quickly to the school. Once inside, he took her hand again and pressed his lips to the back gallantly before wishing her a good night and departing. Priscilla watched without saying anything, the news had already reached her about Aphrodite’s activities that day. Personally, she applauded the young woman and wanted to tell her so.
“Aphrodite,” she said to get the girl’s attention, for she was looking at her own hand with a faint smile.
