(C) One side of Egyptian religion; which believed in Ra, would cover the caps of their pyramids with gold to create a river of sunlight towards Ra and even bury boats next to the pyramids for their Pharaoh to ride in. (C1) The oculus located at the center of the high rising dome in the pantheon allows a beam of light; that rotates with the position of the sun, to shine on a statue of that months god; this gives each god an equal amount of time for followers to worship them. (C2) High arched ceilings; such as the one found in the Hagia Sophia and many other structures built during the time period, force the head towards the heavens in a prayer like position. This shows followers that the way to the afterlife is through devotion and prayer. (C3) These structures were created to not only act as a place of worship but to benefit followers by showing them the path to the other side.
