When thinking about this, a few examples come to mind. For starters, I am on the soccer team. Soccer games usually get very heated. By remaining calm and showing my teammates and the other team what it means to search for peace in any given situation I can do my part in aiding the transformation of culture on the soccer field. When Mouw talks about sharing in the life of the poor, I can translate this concept to my college life by going out of my way to sit by someone in class or at lunch who rarely has someone to talk to. By simply being a friend, I can do my part in aiding the transformation of culture here at Dordt college. In addition, here at Dordt, I am a business major. It is no secret that there is a lot of corruption in business and commerce in our world. As a result, when I enter the world after my college degree, I can use my Christian education and knowledge of God’s desire for cultural transformation to do my part in aiding in the transformation of culture in the business I am in. This could take shape in many different ways from being an equal opportunity employer who gives fair wages to committing to be a company that sets out to give back to the community it operates in.
