If putting a celebrity in front of them makes them buy something ,then that is their own fault. The government should not need to babysit the general public. One may try to counter my argument by saying that companies try to trick consumers. This may be true, but managing a budget is part of being a responsible adult. If someone cannot do that, then they need to find help. Secondly, people say that using celebrities is unfair to smaller companies. If this is true then it would also be fair to say that Super Bowl commercials are unfair to smaller companies. If actions were taken to take celebrities out of advertisements, then other forms of advertising would be more expensive due to a higher demand. This would put smaller companies at even more of a disadvantage because they would not be able to advertise at all. At least they can advertise without celebrities right now. Finally, boycotting companies that advertise could lead to a depression. Boycotting a company would cause their stocks to drop in value. This would cause panic in stockholders who would franticly sell their stocks. The last time a mass selling of stocks happened the stock market’s bottom fell out which led into the great depression. People would be laid off left and right. There would be no need for advertising with celebrities because people would not have money to spend on anything but food and
