1. Anabolic steroids disrupt a delicate balance of hormones in the body. Give three examples of these changes in terms of the physical side effects of steroid abuse.

The abuse of anabolic steroids have a direct effect on the hormonal secretion in the body. The consequences of this disruption are both external and internal. Some of the physical side effects are acne, shrunken testicles and gynecomastia.
Acne is the result of the enlargement of the sebaceous glands and an increase in the secretion of sebum which are caused by the ingestion of steroids. Shrunken testicles is a decrease in the volume of the testicles. It is caused by the cessation of the production of testosterone by the testicles. The input of testosterone in the body from an outside source misleads the brain which stop the production by sending a signal to the testicles. Gynecomastia is the apparition of breast in men. The body convert the excess of testosterone into female hormones which causes the growth of female breasts tissues.

2. Compare and contrast aspirin (ASA) with acetaminophen in terms of their medical benefits and their adverse side effects.

Aspirin is commonly prescribed as painkiller. It can be also used as an anti-inflammatory and to lower fever. Aspirin can also be used as a blood thinner in some patient with heart disease or who are dealing with blood clots. Acetaminophen is also prescribed as a pain killer and to lower fever but it does not have the anti-inflammatory benefit. It can be…
