Langston Hughes is a black man who wrote "I, Too, Sing America". Mr. Hughes calls himself the darker brother. He works for white people who send him to the kitchen to eat when company comes. He dreams of the day when white people will be ashamed they made him eat in the kitchen instead of letting him join the company as they ate.
Both men consider themselves Americans even though they had different experiences.
