They came in steerage, which they spent days, and weeks in,showing how much they wanted to come to the new world. “They came to us speaking many tongues-but a single language, the universal language of human aspiration.” The immigrants all came speaking different languages , but they all came with the same thing in mind which was a new life. “ If we keep the faith for our day as those who came before us kept the faith for theirs, then you and I smile with confidence into the future” relating back to the previous quote because although there are different languages and cultures in America everyone has the same thing in mind, to keep the faith for us and the future.
