Women need to make real connections, both spiritually and socially, before they are able to return to the pressures of an everyday life while maintaining their sobriety.
Moreover, management in the recovery environment needs to offer a more hands-on approach, rather than just focusing on rules, which those in the early stages of their recovery will not care about.

Length of stay must be determined on a case-by-case basis, as each woman recovers at her own individual pace and arrives under a different set of circumstances. Similarly, there is no one-size-fits-all approach to tracking progress.
That said, we will be collaborating with a local outpatient agency, which will provide both group and individual counseling (and this will enable progress to be tracked, whether this information is made available via release to the sober house is TBD).
The girls will also be encouraged to start sponsoring others through the 12 steps before they leave, as this will ensure true connection and deepen their commitment to their own recovery.
During this time, women will be asked on a regular basis how their step work is going and how things are going with their sponsor.

People struggling with addiction need longer-term care, and there is no current environment like
