According to Michelin and the Federation Internationale de l’Automobile, more than 50% of U.S. teens don 't know how to change a flat tire ("More than 50% of U.S. Teens.”). It is necessary for teens to learn how in case a flat would occur while they are driving. When driving down the road, one will start to feel the car start pull to one side and then they will feel the dreaded sound of the tire going flat. So they would pull over and realize they do not know how to change a tire. One will go to the trunk to grab their spare tire, jack, and wrench. Changing a tire is a basic necessity that anyone who is driving will need to know. If ones spare tire does not line up with the lug nut posts, then their tire will not go on ones car correctly. Once it is straight, they will push the spare tire on until it can not go any further. If it is not on all the way, then they will not be able to correctly place the lug nuts, which could cause ones tire to fall off as one is driving down the road. Now they will want to make sure their lug nuts are completely tight. Continue to tighten them in the star or every other pattern. This will allow their tire to be straight and even.
