Politicians of all colours and sizes walked passed us, some not batting as eye, others shooting disapproving glares. We continued days became weeks, weeks became months and more people joined. First, one or two apprehensive Aboriginals from another tribe. Then aggressive and empowered individuals that sought to make a change. We welcomed everyone and anyone, because we couldn’t afford to choose. More and more people kept joining us, until we were a force to be reckoned with. All the humans united under one hope, one cause that will change what we are seen as, and change, everything. As the ghostly politicians say ‘they are inferior to our importance, always was, always will be.’ We will be serving one honest true purpose.
So the large group of Aboriginals outside the parliament house sat and waited and protested for their political rights.
The large group of ghostly politicians arrested and rejected and finally gave in.
I thought, we are all humans, all living on Earth, why must we conflict and start war over land, why can’t we just compromise, share, I asked myself. They were white, I was bronze, why does that matter? Why does such a small, petty thing such as skin colour change our lives?
Will we always be the lesser ones, the odd ones out?
Always was, Always will be?
