In Naomi Wolf’s “The Making Of A Slut” she discusses that women target themselves because of a difference in class, in which she used an example of a girl named Dinah; as a result, the author brings up that women from a higher class creates this false sense of privilege and entitlement. This comes with an attitude of superiority against the other women, and these women feel that somehow they are insulated from their actions because of the other women. In the film, “Real Women Have Curves” by director Patricia Cardoso she discusses about a Latina teenager named Ana struggling with the decision of being the women her mother wants her to be or creating her own path. In this movie, there is a scene when Ana and her sister went to her sister, boss to ask for a advancement in money of their job to pay some utility bills, and the boss instead of helping them, she acted with some attitude of superiority like I do not have to help you, you work for me not vice versa instead of helping them out like a good sister. Likewise Wolf’s says “…Class had declared her a slut by fourteen, while she was still technically a virgin, and kept her there, kept me and my other wild little middle-class friends safe.” These girls thought that by calling Dinah a slut they were superior then her and nothing was going to happen to them. In New York, girls from higher class call the girls from lower class hoes thinking that they are superior than these girls because of this; not knowing is just making them hoes as well.
