The term paper is written based on the comparison of the Genesis story with neighboring tales of ancient Israel. These stories and legends were told orally from generation to generation, creating a writing system developed in papyrus and stele. Today, we have access to that information through the studies of history and archeology, which have been important tools to get to know the ancient world. These stories are mostly myths and legends that marked the personal life, politics, and the economy and society of the ancient people (Thompson).
