A Comparison Of Two Native American Creation Stories

No one alive today knows truly how we came to be. All we have today are just stories. many conflicts arise from who or what created us. Christians believe that the almighty God created everything we know and see. That God created us, humans, and Earth and the heavens. While Native Americans believe in the creation story. They both have many similarities as to how things came to be. The first similarity that i noticed in both stories is that they have magical trees that lead to problems. In the Judeo Christian story, the tree of life produces fruit in which no one is to eat. “‘-But you must not eat from the tree of knowledge of good and evil.’” In the Native American story, the people that are there can eat the fruit from the tree but may not bring any harm to the tree. “They were also warned that they were not to touch the roots in case it were to bring harm to the tree.” …show more content…
In both stories, the women are the ones that screw everything up. Eve caused change by taking fruit from the tree of knowledge and eating it with Adam. “‘ she took some and ate it.
