Two years ago, a British man was involved in a terrible accident, while riding his bike, half of his face was completely destroyed. Using X ray, CT scan, and CGI technology, scientists were able to create an identical copy of the bikers undamaged face to reconstruct the other half with 3D printing (Griffiths, 2013). Since 3D printing has evolved from what it was 20 years ago, his facial reconstruction surgery made it seem as if nothing had happened to his face. 3D printing has found its way into everything that we do in life. We have managed to create functioning cars with 3D printing technology. 3D printing doesn’t just consist of making cool life like objects, it helps saves lives everyday.
