What is an annunciator panel in an aircraft?

A single location that contains all of the warning and condition lights for the aircraft. This makes it easy for the pilot to monitor all of the systems at a glance.

Which device in an anti skid brake system would likely cause the brakes to fail when a skid developed?

A malfunctioning anti skid valve.

Where are the skid detectors located in an anti skid brake system?

In the center of the wheel hub.

What conditions could cause a takeoff warning system to actuate?

The takeoff warning system gives an aural warning when the power lever is advanced for takeoff if the flight controls for the stabilizer, the flaps, and the speed brakes are in an unsafe condition for takeoff.

What would cause the warning horn to sound when the throttles are pulled back, reducing the engine power for landing?

The warning horn will sound if any of the landing gears are not down and locked.

What is indicated by a red light in the landing gear position indication portion of the annunciator panel?

The red light indicates that the landing gear is not in a safe condition for landing.

Where is the landing gear safety switch normally located?

On one of the landing gear shock struts so the switch is actuated when the weight of the aircraft is on the landing gear.

What information is given to a pilot to indicate that all of the landing gears are down and locked?

Three green lights are used on most aircraft to indicate that all three landing gears are down and locked.

What is the purpose of a brake anti skid system?

Anti-skid systems are designed to permit effective braking throughout the landing roll, regardless of runway conditions.

What does an anti-skid warning light indicate?

The anti-skid system has been turned off or has a system failure.

What type of position indicators are normally used to indicate that the landing gear is down and locked?

The up and locked position and the down and locked position.

When should you check landing gear switches, lights and warning horns?

During a landing gear retraction check.

How does a takeoff warning horn differ from a landing gear warning horn?

The takeoff horn is intermittent, whereas the landing gear horn is continuous.

What items may cause a takeoff warning horn to operate in a typical transport jet aircraft?

If the throttles are advanced and any of the following conditions exist, the takeoff horn will sound.

1. Speed brakes not down.

2. Flaps not in the takeoff range.

3. Auxiliary power exhaust door open.

4. Stabilizer not in the takeoff setting.
