As a result, customers were not satisfied. To improve their customers experience, Delta operations team at their various airports decided to investigate the matter. Once they identified the causes, they came up with an effective solution to combat the problem. Delta implemented the RFID system. This system allows customers to track their luggage via their mobile devices by using the Delta app or their website. Delta is the first to use this system. According to Silk (2016), “When Delta finishes installing this system, it plans to enhance that feature with push notifications that tell passengers when their bags make it on the plane and when they can expect them to be delivered to baggage claim” (para. 20). Because this system uses radio frequency, employees will also be able to reroute baggage in the case that a person happens to miss their flight.
