Safety of bicycle brakes
The safety of bicycles is a very important factor when riding a bicycle. Safety always comes first, but have you ever thought to yourself is your bicycle safe? Are the brakes on your bicycle good enough to keep you safe? All these questions pop into mind but never get a quick answer.

Calliper brakes are not of the safest brakes out there, if not used in the correct manner it more likely you will lose control while applying brakes and end up having an accident. If the front brake is applied more, the rear of bicycle will tilt upwards which may result in you being thrown over the handlebars. Whilst disc brakes are much safer and all that would happen with a calliper brake, is mostly unlikely to happen with a disc.

In addition, if you drive through a wet condition, for example water, the water tends to slip off the disc resulting in getting your stopping power back in no time at all. Making the disc brake very efficient and safer to use. (2015, reluctant mechanic)

On the other hand, calliper brakes is not as efficient as the disc brake because the brake lever have to push quite hard for the brakes to come into action, or to implement sufficient force to the brake. When being put into difficult condition for example, wet condition, the calliper brakes tend to slip off the tyres as the brakes are wet and make it very slippery and hard for it to grip onto the tyres of the bicycle.
