Identify local poisonous plants

How do you treat exposure to local poisonous plants?
Wash with soap and water
How do you treat simple cuts & scrapes?
1) Flush with clean water until foreign matter is gone.
2) Apply antibiotic ointment if not allergic
3) Cover with dry, sterile bandage
Treat blisters?
Do not break.
Cover with moleskin or foam, second skin etc
What if blister fluid must be drained (it's going to break)?
1 Wash skin
2 Sterilize pin
3 Pierce near lower edge
4 Press out fluid
5 Cover with bandage
Evidence for first degree burn?
Reddening of skin, no blisters
Treatment for first degree burn?
Hold under cold water or use cold compress.
No further medical care unless large area is burned.
Evidence for 2nd degree burn?
Reddening of skin and blisters.
Treatment for 2nd degree burn.
Hold under cold water until pain is relieved.
Allow to dry then cover with loose bandage.
Do NOT apply creams or ointments.
Evidence for 3rd degree burns?
Skin burned away. Charring of flesh. If nerves burned away pain may not be felt.

2 Do not attempt to remove stuck clothing

4 Treat for shock & seek IMMEDIATE medical attention
How to treat for tick bite?
1 Grasp with tweezers close to skin and pull gently. Do NOT twist, squeeze or jerk
2 Wash clean and apply antiseptic
3 Wash hands afterward
