Where is the thyroid located at?
Neck
What two hormones does the thyroid produce?
TH, calcitonin.
What does TH do?
Growth, nervous system development, amplifies sympathetic nervous system.
What does PTH hormone target?
Primary regulator of blood calcium levels. Kidneys, bones, for reabsportion of calcium basically.
Where is thymus located?
Right around the heart.
What do thymus hormones do?
Regulate t cell development.
Where are the adrenal glands located?
Top of the kidneys.
What is aldosterone important for?
Sodium retention.
What does cortisol do?
Regulates energy metabolism, and the immune system, and the stress response.

The fight or flight response.

Stimulates release of ACTH.

GHRH, and SST.
What does ANP do?
causes the kidneys to increase secretion of sodium, for salt balance, thus Blood volume and BP.
What does Gastrin do?
Stimulates hydroclhoric acid secretion in the stomach and stimulates growth of the gastric mucosa.

What does erythropoietin do?
Stimulates bone marrow to increase production of red blood cells
What does calcitriol do?
increasing the uptake of calcium from the intestine.
