What is your guilty pleasure? It seems to be that people just can’t get enough sugar . Many people in this country have high sugary diets. Americans are consuming too much sugar, but is not all our fault because food is already sugar coated when it gets to the table. Sugar builds up and causes our heart to suffer from the blockage of our artery’s that make our heart pump harder causing stress. According to the Centers for Disease Control, more than 5 million people suffer from heart failure in the U.S. each year. This is alarming if are the terrible effects it is having on our bodies why are we still consuming it. All those added sugar pack on extras pounds can eventually lead you to become overweight, which is the kick start to other diseases like diabetes, high cholesterol, high blood pressure and other diseases. The foods we eat affects every aspects of our lives from how we think to how healthy we are, you are what you eat. Not only does sugar effects the body also the mind. A study done by researchers at UCLA concluded that eating high fructose diet over the long term alters our brains ability to learn and retain information. We start eating food within 6 months of being born, even baby foods contain high fructose syrup. High fructose is in our condiments, processed foods, soft drinks even applesauce.
