Even though Iago is telling a lie, Othello think it’s him force Iago tell the truth. Then, Iago goes to make Othello doubts that his wife, Desdemona, is having an affair with Cassio. After persuades Cassio to ask Desdemona to help him get his position back, Iago takes Othello to where Cassio and Desdemona are. While Cassio leaves because the arrival of Othello and Iago, Iago says, “Ha, I like no that” (III. iii 37). However, when Othello questions Iag, “What dost thou say” (III.iii 38), Iago hesitate as he speaks, “Nothing, my lord; or if-I know not what” (III. iii 39). After Othello asks Iago whether the person talks with his wife is Cassio, Iago reigns he does not recognize Cassio but claims, “I cannot think it that he would steal away so guilty like, Seeing your coming”(III.iii 41-43). It does not only makes Othello think Cassio acts guilty and wonders why, but also ignores Desdemona’s demand to help Cassio. Following on that Iago begins his insinuations of Desdemona is cheating on Othello. Handkerchief was the most important evidence of approving Desdemona is cheating. When Desdemona drops the handkerchief that Othello gave her, Emilia knows that her husband wanted it; so she picks it up and gives it to Iago. Iago then uses the handkerchief as the actual physical evidence of approving Desdemona is unfaithful with Cassio. After places the handkerchief in where Cassio lives, he goes to tell Othello that Cassio has the handkerchief that Othello gave to Desdemona.
