My major is Human Resources. The problem is sexual harassment in the work place. Sexual harassment affects everyone in the work environment. Sexual harassment has been a problem for years. According to the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC), sexual harassment includes: Unwelcome sexual advances, requests for sexual favors, and other verbal or physical conduct of a sexual nature ... when submission to or rejection of this conduct explicitly or implicitly affects an individual's employment. The first sexual harassment case was in 1976. (2006) Also, these cases have been proven fraudulent. Sexual harassment in the work place can destroy a marriage. According to Cincinnati News, Ohio Attorney office investigated Hamilton County Prosecutor Mike Allen and assistant Rebecca Collins relationship appeared to be consensual and a violation against office policies. Rebecca Collins filed a sexual harassment complaint against Mike Allen two weeks after her divorce was final. Also, this relationship caused tension within the office. Mike Allen marriage was destroyed, due to the extramarital affair. (2004) Human resource had policies in place against interoffice relationship with the office, but policies were not practice. Office affairs are very common in the work place.
