My Life on Togetherness Essay

I belong to a family that is characterized by being quite Post-modern. Talking about my parents, they do both participate in the public sphere. They both work in two separate domains, having consequently more freedom in the public sphere they encounter as a daily basis. For example, my mother works as a teacher, so she comes across mostly teachers and professors, and my father works as an architect, so he encounters mostly architects, without corrupting one another by endless phone calls or whatever. So Togetherness, which is the opposite of autonomy, is not really seen. My parents are open-minded, which make me more comfortable when talking to them. I have a great listener mother, a knowledgeable father and a "boost-mood" sister. They endorse me with huge care and love, which I am thankful for. In short, I don’t care how poor a man is; if he has a family, he is rich.
Also, I expect my family to stay next to me in my highs and lows, and to never leave me, it's the only thing I need. On the other hand, they expect me to become a brilliant doctor, which I hopefully will, not because they want me to, but because it's my second goal in my life. They also expect me to never break the trust between us, which I never will.
I am Muslim belonging to the Sunnites subgroup. However, my friends are a mixture of Sunnites, Shiites and Christians. I am an open minded person and I believe that whenever a logical practice is being held by other people, I must practice it as well. I do not restrict myself only to the beliefs Sunnites have. For example, Shiites practice Achoura, I go with my Shiites friends and attend their councils, and I listen to their thoughts and compare them with my own. Whenever I come to a conflict I go and ask religious People from different sects to be able to get a valid response to my questions. Conflicts do not arise just from this maneuver; they also are the result of possible contradictions between scientific conclusions and Religious beliefs.
