The Romans Road to Salvation is a systematic way of explaining the gospel to an unbeliever by referencing a series of Bible verses in the Book of Romans. First, explain the human need: “For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God” (New International Version, Romans 3:23). Second, speak to sin’s penalty: “For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord” (6:23). Next talk about God’s provision for this penalty: “But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us” (5:8). Finally, explain how the person can respond: “That if you confess with your mouth, “Jesus is Lord,” and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will …show more content…
Also, this method does not allow time for discussion or conversation which can be viewed by unbelievers as forceful and unwarranted.
Servant Evangelism
Servant Evangelism is a simple straightforward method of sharing God’s love in a practical way. The greatest example of servant evangelism is when Jesus Christ washed the feet of His disciples at the Last Supper. Even though the disciples called Jesus “Lord” and “Teacher”, He showed them that he was also just a humble servant. Jesus explained that “no servant is greater than his master, nor is a messenger greater than the one who sent him.” (John 13:16). The message that Jesus tried to relay was to be humble and not to put ourself above others, even though we may be proud of our knowledge and accomplishments. By humbling ourselves we serve other people, who may or may not know Christ, through a particular act with no expectation of anything in return.
The advantages of using this method include being simple, quick and fun. It is a church group and family-friendly approach that shy individuals or new Christians can take part in easily. It is a friendly, non-pushy approach that provides a safe place for ambitious people to expend their energy. This also gives an opportunity for the Holy Spirit to work and convict those who live in any segment of our cities by witnessing a life of service.
