Social media is everywhere. It constantly appears in our daily lives, and we accept it and normal living. Included with it’s popularity, however, is a lot of advertising and showing off. When someone uses social media, like Facebook, Instagram, or Snapchat, they share their lives with the world. However, social media users only share the best things about their lives, making their lives seem much more important and glamorous to someone viewing their page or posts. This does not follow ‘Being Poor In Spirit’ as Jesus taught us to. Being ‘poor in spirit’ means that you’re not self-centred, overly proud or perfect. Social media teaches us the direct opposite.
