Wrestling is the Most Dangerous Sport “The better you eat the better you compete and the better you’ll be able to go out there and train and go out there and win it”(Burroughs).Most people think football is the most dangerous sport; some people agree some people disagree. Wrestling is the most dangerous sport because of physical injuries suffered after wrestling which include concussions, skin diseases, and eating disorders. Most wrestlers have had at least two to three concussions in their career and has cauliflower ear or has had cauliflower ear. Most common diseases wrestlers get are Tinea Corporis (ringworm),herpes, impetigo, staph infection, scabies, and cellulitis. All these diseases start out looking like a little zit or pimple and when picked it spread around the touched area after being picked open. These diseases can not be spread unless somebody else has an open wound and if treated for more than 48 hours with prescription medicine. All these diseases occur from fungus either in your headgear, singlet, edge of your shoes or on the mat (Wrestling Season and Skin Diseases). The diseases stick with your body forever they can come back whenever you don’t clean something. The rate of wrestlers getting these diseases are Herpes 47%, Impetigo 36.8%, Ringworm Seven point four percent, Cellulitis five point nine percent, and staph two point nine percent(Shaginaw). Ringworm and impetigo are the most closely related out of all the diseases they both look like rashes and spread with the most easiest contact. They both scab over once treated long enough and they can both be killed by the prescription medicine or by taking rubbing alcohol and putting it on a cotton ball, touching the infected spot and holding it there for at least 30
