In the two books I have read friendship has been very influential in the turnout or conclusion of their stories. However the stories ended very differently one ending in a new found love the other in tragedy. To begin Othello’s main friendship was between Othello and Iago. Othello and Iago had been comrades in battle for many years as Iago is constantly referred to as Othello’s ancient. Iago however loathes Othello and leads you to wonder what friendship is. Friendship is a mutual trust to another person and the positive relationship between people. Although Iago is very untrustworthy Othello perceives him as a saint or one who could do no wrong. That is why it is important for a mutual trust between the friends as it is clear Iago resents Othello’s decision to promote Cassio and not him. This false friendship between Othello and Iago is the core reason the other friendships failed such as the one between Othello and Desdemona. The Othello and Desdemona friendship is the most common element connecting the books Othello and Aristotle and Dante discover the secrets of the universe. This is because the way the friendships developed were similar. To verify we know that Aristotle and Dante are very different Ari like Othello is raised in a difficult childhood and is not quite as civil or proper as others in their time period. Dante on the other hand is like Desdemona as they both were raised in wealthy or middle class families and are full of youth and laughter. They…
