The Crucible is a play written by Arthur Miller broke through in 1953 discussing the conflicting time of the Salem Witch Trials. During this time people were treated unequally if they were being accused of being a so called “ witch”. A leader of the accusations was Abigail Williams the niece of the town's preacher Reverend Parris. Abigail was peculiar young girl with a conscious mind and a cold heart. Her specific goal was to have Elizabeth Proctor accused and hanged in front of Salem. Imagine that happening in today’s society if someone was falsely accused and got away with it. Today if someone was accused of witchcraft we wouldn’t hang them we would most likely be alright with it but still judge their character of actions.
