“Religion?” Mr. Kumar grinned broadly. “I don’t believe in religion. Religion is darkness.”(Martel, 29). I chose this quotation because it’s not that I do not believe in religion myself, but atheism seems to be recurring issue in everyday life. There are so many people today who question religion, such as, if God or religion exists, why is there so much violence in the world? Or, why do so many people live in poverty?
The citation is fascinating in light of the fact that it takes after Pi telling Mr. Kumar "religion will spare us" (Martel, 29), and Mr. Kumar quickly repudiates Pi's announcement. Notwithstanding the conviction I have in my own religion, I don't concur with the way religions are brought upon the world today. There are such a large number of various convictions that are isolating mankind from world peace. Eventually, everybody has their own particular thought of world peace, and with such a variety of various religions and convictions, it can't exist. A few religions are contradictory to the point that they can't lead the world in the same bearing. I am conceived Catholic from my mom, yet my dad is Protestant. From setting off to a Catholic school when I was more youthful, I took in the Catholic conviction, yet too periodically we would go to chapel with my grandma who was Protestant. Seeing the contrast between a few religions and their convictions gives an alternate point of view toward that they are so inviting to different convictions. On the off chance that you are not Catholic, you are disapproved of and don't feel welcome in the Catholic church.
