Avatar is connected and is similar to the history of the First Nations people of Canada. There are many similarities and differences, for example, in the movie, the land of the Na’vi people was invaded by the American military. The First Nations land was invaded by Europeans who discovered North America by accident. This is a similarity as both of the tribes lands were invaded by outsiders. Secondly, the Na’vi people have long, black, braided hair, they wear handmade jewelry, little clothing, and additionally, run around barefoot. They also use bows and arrows for self defense or to hunt. This is very similar to the First Nations as they looked, dressed and hunted the same way. This is because they were weak and they did not have any knowledge of what the Europeans were going to do.
