Patrick Henry is a very well known man throughout his life time. Patrick Henry left America in a wonderful place. Patrick henry was born May 9th 1736 in Hanover county, Virginia. Patrick Henry has a very large family including his parents named John and Sarah Winston Henry and his two sibling Elizabeth Henry Campbell Russell and William Henry. The way Patrick henry grew up was very different from the way we may grow up now, but when Patrick henry was growing up he lived on a family farm and had to do many chores for his dad such as helping feed animals, water plants, clean the barns. Patrick Henry also was into many activities such as playing music and getting an education. When patrick Henry hit his older teenage years he put his focus more on getting an education and focusing on college. Patrick Henry was a very smart man, he went to King’s college and his dad also tough him some of the education that he needed which was he wanted to learn how to read latin and study Law. As Patrick graduated college, he became a very well Lawyer and Set up his own private practice in Hanover Courthouse, Virginia, in 1760.Patrick Henry got married twice, his first wife was Sarah Shelton and he had 6 kids with the first marriage, then he got remarried and had 11 more children with Dorothea Dandridge . One of Patrick Henry greatest accomplishments was becoming a founding father of the United states of America. Patrick also became a fourth term in the government. Along with another one of Patrick Henry greatest accomplishments was driving force into the American Revolution. Patrick henry also was a lawyer and powerful orator, Henry had been chosen as a delegate to the Continental Congress, he spoke out against British rule on several occasions, he was a known supporter of the Revolution. He vehemently opposed the Stamp Act, as a measure that allowed Britain to tax all printed paper used by the colonist. In 1775, Patrick Henry uttered his famous speech involving liberty or death at the Virginia Convention “Give Me Liberty Or Give Me Death” with famous quote “Is life so dear, or peace so sweet, as to be purchased at the price of chains and slavery? Forbid it, Almighty God! — I know not what course others may take; but as for me, give me liberty or give me death!", The American Revolution began shortly after this speech. Patrick Henry next greatest accomplishment made him well known for starting the move of independence in virginia during the 1770’s. Patrick Henry helped America become a nation in many different ways and he wanted America to be different, so patrick henry had ideas to help and change America in different ways. Patrick henry wanted to start peace across America, Patrick Henry also helped America because he wanted people to have independence and freedom to what they please. Patrick Henry wanted to end some wars which is what America needed. Patrick Henry also helped because he was on the very first to attend the continental congress.
