Patrick Henry

Patrick Henry was born at Studley in Hanover County. Patrick Henry was the son of

John and Sarah Henry, There was 2 sons and 7 daughters in the family. Patrick was

mainly educated by his father and uncle. In 1751 Henry became a store clerk into a little

country store. A few years later Henry’s house and furnishings were destroyed

By fire in 1757. He sold the slaves and set up store keeping again, then later a drought

came and destroyed all the crops and his store business failed. In 1763 Henry argues

parson’s cause at Hanover Court House. In 1764 Henry becomes a successful lawyer

He succeeded well in his law practice and within a few years had so much business

people started to take notice of him.
