They created a list of 8 signs of genocide that happened during the Holocaust and as well with real genocides happening in the East. The first is Classification - where people are being categorised by their race, religion, or even appearances like skin, hair, and clothes is one way to spot genocide. Second is symbolium - when people are given names (that are based off a category) and other symbols that divide people from the rest of the group like a star, cross, or ID cards that makes people easy to spot. Third most is dehumanization - where people are denied that they’re human or saying that a person is nothing more than property or an animal. Calling people, for example, dogs, scum, or rodents and treating them like animals from the wild that need to yield is a way to see that people are becoming inhuman. The fourth way is organization - meaning the government is divided states into militias and not allowing people to see the other “bad” group that is being cut off and erased from existence one by one. Fifth is polarization - when people that hate broadcasting their spite to influence many to agree with them. It’s how people bond together to take out a group of people more easier.
