War Of 1812 Effects

The War of 1812 does not seem that significant in the whole scheme of United States history; however, this is not the case. The effects of the war caused many beneficial events to happen in the US. A new line of commerce was created for the public. Manufacturing and the amount of home grown goods skyrocketed during and after the War of 1812 due to the shortage of imports. In the eyes of the people, they were victors against the British-again! Confidence and patriotism were on the rise due to newfound pride in their nation. Lastly, in terms of the government, the nation was able to physically grow. By defeating many Indian tribes, the United States had more opportunities to expand. This was done to stop the United States from providing food and supplies to France, but this also struck the States hard as they had to make do without crucial items. Then, the American public had enough. They began creating their own products and using them instead of trying to import the products.
