Walt Disney Research Paper Walter Elias Disney was an amazing film producer, director, screenwriter, voice actor, animator, entrepreneur and philanthropist. Mr. Disney left this world, impacting and inspiring the lives of everyone and changing the world of movie-making forever. Walt Disney was the creator of popular animated characters such as Mickey Mouse, Donald Duck, Alice in Wonderland, and Snow White. Above all, the Disneyland amusement park turned out to be a big success for the Disney family because it impacted the world, by combing many different aspects into one big entertainment business! “Sketches were done, then models, so that Walt could properly visualize the concept.” (Greene 124) Soon enough the construction of Disneyland began. Workers worked fifteen to eighteen hours a day. The construction for Disneyland lasted a little bit over a year, and cost approximately 17 million dollars. The park finally opened on July 17, 1955. Thousands of people attended the grand opening and many others tuned in on television to watch the opening from their home. “While at the opening, Walt descended to read the dedication which visitors to Disneyland can still find on a bronze plaque in the Town Square.” (Greene 129) The plaque is a way to give thanks to all the daily visitors that make Disneyland so famous. The park has about 13 million visitors a year! They go to Disneyland because they want too celebrate different occasions. They can be celebrating a birthday, anniversary, graduation, etc. The opening of the park impacted the world because it showed the world a different perspective because the kids weren’t the only ones who could ride on attractions.
