The Vietnam Memorial Wall is a recognition of all the brave soldiers who fought the long battle of the Vietnam War. As National Park Service wrote, “Honoring the men and women who served in the controversial Vietnam War, the Vietnam Veterans Memorial chronologically lists the names of more than 58,000 Americans who gave their lives in service to their country.” Having such a memorable wall helps Americans honor and know who were willing to give their lives to fight for this country.
As families visit the inspiring, At full size,about 460 feet wide Wall, it acts as a reflection of all the loved ones passed or not found. The Wall was created in hopes that families would be able to come to this Wall and remember their loved ones and realize the important leadership portrayed throughout the whole war. Without these incredibly brave men and women willing to sacrifice their lives for us, the outcome of the war would have been completely different, so the least we could do was create a noble wall in me
This impacts my life because in Dubuque we have our own memorial for all the soldiers and the Vietnam War. My grandfather will have his name on this memorial, and I find that heartening that Dubuque has a place to remember veterans. All my grandfather …show more content…
Another attractive piece of the Memorial was it is not just made up of the wall, but also a Woman's Memorial, which included a fascinating sculpture to show that women were involved just like the men, but in different ways.
