Immunizations are the most important things for a child to receive in their young years. There are many immunizations made for different types of serious diseases such as measles, polio, and smallpox. Edward Jenner was the first person to create an Immunization or vaccination. He created the vaccine for smallpox in 1796. Smallpox was a serious and contagious disease that would be spread through coming into contact with sores or by coughing. Many people at the time contracted smallpox due to how easy it was to get infected and with the vaccine smallpox basically disappeared. Many of the diseases that vaccines prevent were diseases that heavily impacted the human race years ago. The diseases killed many and were only stopped by specific vaccines. The immunizations helped so much and still do. That is why they are required in all fifty states of the United States. In many foreign countries, immunizations are not given and they are the reason diseases or illnesses like polio still exist. Immunizations are when a person is given a vaccine to be immune to an infectious disease. A vaccine is a medicine that produces antibodies that make the person immune to whatever disease that the vaccine is made for killing. Immunizations should be required for children because they are healthy for the child, they are healthy for society and they provide affordable health care.…
