I will examine and analyze the five theoretical perspectives, including pedagogy, andragogy, multiple intelligences theory, social learning theory, and exchange theory in relation to kinematics.
Theoretical Perspectives Each theory has its own perspective of how others learn or should be taught, yet some have similar attributes. Using kinematics as a topic, the five different theoretical perspectives will be analyzed. Pedagogy is the learning theory for teaching children by having a teacher-centered learning community where the teacher assumes all responsibility of determining when, how, and what will be taught inside the classroom (Feighny, 2017). For a kinematics topic, this would be a teacher following a sequence of material they believe is the best format, with activities, lessons, and applications set up when they think the students need to learn it. The teacher is the center of the discussion and learning, telling students what they need to know. Andragogy is a learning theory geared towards adult learning, yet can also be a practice for teaching adolescents. Andragogy is based off of five assumptions for learners, which include
