“Design is not just what it looks like and feels like but how it works.” Steve Jobs. Nowadays computers may seem like a necessity due to the multiplicity of reasons they can be used for. Surfing the web, messaging friends, reading a book, ordering food, there are so many things to do online. Computers provide a platform to search the web, which is profound since the first computer was made in just 1941. When computers became popular there were only a few companies making them like: Compaq, Microsoft, IBM, and Apple. Apple as a company is currently known for their complex devices like the iPhones and MacBooks, but they have a great legacy in the technology world. The start of Apple’s success came from the ‘Macintosh’ desktop computer which soon transformed into ‘iMac’ series. The iMac G3 was built off of previous Macintosh computers which eventually made the Mac’s today so complex. Apple became one of the leaders of the personal / business computers launching their first computer in 1983 named Lisa which stood for Local Integrated Software Architecture. Lisa was the first commercial personal computer with graphical user interface. The computer ran on Motorola 68000 microprocessor and came with 1 MB or RAM, a 12-inch black-and-white monitor, dual 5.25-inch floppy disk drives and a 5 MB “Profile” hard drive.3 The Lisa was more expensive than other computers because it came with protected memory, cooperative multitasking, hard disk operating system, a built-in screensaver,…
