The South Korean Experience When I asked Johnny Lee out for lunch, I let him pick the location and I was very surprised to find out that Johnny’s favorite place to eat was Taco Bell. It was completely different from food in South Korea. We enjoyed ourselves eating tacos and burritos. He loves Taco Bell because it’s cheap and delicious. Something we had in common, a good place to eat and where it’s cheap. The first time he went there was when he was passing by a sign on the highway one day and he suggested to go with his family; he had a beefy five layer burrito. After we ate was when he told me that he ate similar foods when he lived in South Korea. This surprised me because I thought that he ate traditional foods that contained noodles, rice, seafood, and vegetables. But there are common fast-food restaurants in South Korea. The popular fast-food restaurant that they have are McDonald’s, Burger King, Pizza Hut, and Dominos. But Koreans alter some items from the menu to make part of their culture. They offer a spicy chicken burger but they also offer a shrimp burger. I payed Taco Bell with United States Dollars, if we were in South Korea than we would have used Won.
