Harold began his training in more preserved and technical way, learning and analyzing from his mistakes so that he could improve for the coming Olympics. Eric trained himself in an easy going and relaxed way and never rejected his faith. Eric knew that God made him for purpose and He made him fast. He ran for pleasure and to glorify God. Eric felt that running and winning was important to prove the world the presence of God. According to Eric " To win is an honor for Him" "When I run I feel his pleasure." While Harold is a strong athlete but is a afflict personality who always wants to win and knows how Eric is extremely gifted. "I 've never seen such drive, such commitment in a runner. He runs like a wild animal", said Harold. In order to do his best, he hires a professional coach, Sam Mussabini. During the training, Sam introduced Harold improved techniques for running which was sprinting that he could hold nerves, run long distance his guts as bullied to improve performance, and make short strides and long steps. Harold observes that he can do better and acknowledge his talent. "I can run fast. With your help, I think I can even run faster. Perhaps faster means than any man ever ran. I want the Olympic medal. Harold was outgoing, friendly and good company for others. His weak side of the personality appears in the movie as he was always was very eager for others to like him and appreciate his work. He denied his true origins and his life became more complex when he met a singer, who became his girlfriend. She stood with him in his hardest moments of life, when he felt defeat and moment of fear in his life. He doesn 't want to run if he does not win. His thrill always came from winning and being the best not from racing itself. Eric was selected to be part of the Olympics team for the 8th Olympic games, held in Paris. Eric encounters an obstacle to his running the Olympic game was taking place on Sunday, and he was supposed to run a heat on that very day, which he was not going to do so he switches to the 400-meter competition. For Eric running on Sunday was against God 's law as it was the sabbath. The Prince of Wales even tried to convince him to change his decision, but Eric wasn 't ready to make such a huge sacrifice for his country. Eric wins the 400-meter race and glorifies God.
